UtStord Non-Exclusive 3D Seismic Survey

Unveiling Prospects in the Utsira High and Stord Basin

Comprising of approximately 5,000 square kilometers, the UtStord 3D Seismic Survey significantly enhances our understanding of the geological makeup of the Norwegian North Sea. It strategically covers a portion of the promising Utsira High and ventures into the lesser-explored Stord Basin to the east, delving into regions theorised to possess abundant petroleum reserves. Recent findings are already confirming the existence of an active petroleum system in this untapped, yet resource-rich province.

The advanced UtStord 3D survey is a powerful tool, refining the clarity of imaging and thus bolstering the accuracy of prospect identification. With this seismic data, the potential for various stratigraphic stages has been illuminated, revealing promising leads of untapped resources. The data also hint at the intriguing possibility of spill migration from proven western fields, uncovering the potential for a new frontier in our understanding of the region’s geological composition.
