March Global Seismic Snapshot via Seisintel

23 Mar 2016

The world’s seismic vessel fleet continues to gather momentum globally, with multiple surveys currently being acquired all around the globe.

The snapshot below, taken directly from the Seisintel database, shows all the active seismic vessels as of the 22 March 2016.

Next month we expect to see increased seismic activity in the north, with the summer season commencing.

Feature Region: Myanmar

March has been a busy month in Myanmar, with four of the largest seismic spreads in history being towed for Shell, PTTEP, Woodside, BG and Berlanga.

We will leave it up to the vessel owners to fight for the title of ‘who has the biggest spread’, but it’s certainly impressive what modern 3D vessels can achieve.

At this rate of acquisition, the next big question is – where to next for the vessels? Stay tuned for next month’s update as we follow the vessels into the Northern summer.

If you want to know more about Seisintel and get it on your work station, drop us a line at sales@searcherseismic.com and we can organise a live demo! You can also download Searcher Seismic’s free Vessel Searcher APP to see the seismic vessels location in near-real time.
