Following up last year’s successful partnership in acquiring the Gulspurv 3D Seismic Survey in the Barents Sea, Searcher Seismic and Dolphin Geophysical will start acquisition of the new UtStord Multi-Client Survey in the Norwegian North Sea, utilising the high-end 3D seismic vessel, the Polar Duchess.
The 3,800km2 survey is highly prefunded by industry and commenced on 14th June. Acquisition is scheduled to take approximately 3-4 months in total. Deliveries of fast track data will begin in August 2013 to assist clients with initial acreage reviews.
Additionally, Dolphin will perform high-end Fast-Track processing on-board the Polar Duchess and complete the full PSTM at the Dolphin UK processing Centre.
The project parameters have been designed with considerable input from clients and additional oil companies are anticipated to join this attractive project shortly.
“Searcher is pleased to be again working with Dolphin on this exciting project located immediately adjacent to the giant Johan Sverdrup discovery“, said Alan Hopping, General Manager for Searcher Seismic.
