Explore South Africa

Offshore South Africa

Searcher’s South Africa dataset covers the Outeniqua Basin and its sub-Basins; the Bredasdorp, Infanta, Pletmos, Gamtoos, Algoa and Southern Outeniqua Basins.

Searcher has applied its proprietary post-stack reprocessing method to rectify navigation, metadata, amplitude, phase and time creating a contiguous database that can be easily loaded into any interpretation software.

Searcher’s ready-to-interpret dataset over the basin follows the success of the Luiperd-1 well which highlighted the commercial resource potential offshore South Africa.

The Cretaceous source rocks of the Brulpadda-Luiperd trend extend along the margin on the north side of the Agulhas Transform, which provides a depositional onlap for hybrid clastic systems being brought to the basin floor.  Brulpadda and Luiperd are just the beginning of the excitement on this trend and we can confidently expect a lot more to come in this nascent superbasin.

Begin your research with Searcher's GeoClerk

GeoClerk is a web-based platform that utilises machine learning to source industry related imagery and link back to its source documents.

GeoClerk unlocks a wealth of valuable, industry relevant information that was previously hidden within and around images in legacy geoscience publications. GeoClerk classifies and extracts imagery and pertinent data from unstructured documents, which is then collated in searchable and filterable geo-imagery libraries for convenient access.

The essential search engine for efficient exploration experts.
