Onshore Perth Basin Super-Tie Extension
Advancing Exploration in the Northern Perth Basin
With activity in the Perth Basin gaining momentum following a series of deep gas discoveries, the Onshore Perth Basin Super Tie project, initially involving the reprocessing of 5,000 km of 2D seismic data completed in 2015 has been extended to incorporate an additional 2,480 line km of data from over 30 surveys.
With project partner Realtimeseismic (RTS), the project extension works to enhance the resolution and fidelity of the data covering the Northern Perth Basin, allowing for explorers to generate a robust framework across the structurally complex basin. Navigation data has been meticulously scrutinised and corrected to ensure optimised data positioning and ties, with significant detail paid in denoising to vastly improve the signal-to-noise ratio. The result is a quality and robust dataset with improved imaging quality to boost confidence in exploration around this promising region.
