Big Buzz 3D Reprocessing
Phase One
Feel the Buzz – Advanced seismic data for North Sea Exploration
The expansive Big Buzz 3D Reprocessed Survey covers over 1,560 square kilometers in the rich North Sea, enveloping well-established oil and gas fields. This project is crucial for supporting infrastructure-led exploration (ILX) agendas, with strategic positioning around the giant Buzzard oil field and within reachable tie-back distances to Kittiwake and Forties field development platforms. Such proximity amplifies the possibilities for blending new discoveries with current infrastructure, thus, promoting efficient development strategies.
The reprocessed imaging results from this data offer a significant advancement over vintage 3D seismic data, as the advanced processing flow incorporates broadband, Full Waveform Inversion (FWI), and pre-Stack Depth Migration. With the backing of geologic well and field data, these advanced technologies deliver impeccable resolution and definition. In addition, targeted demultiple and amplitude-retaining processes enable valuable Amplitude Versus Offset (AVO) and Amplitude Versus Angle (AVA) evaluations at target depths. Searcher’s ILX reprocessing model provides an economical solution for explorers desiring to prioritise prospects for immediate development.
