Browse Ultracube 3D Non-Exclusive Seismic Reprocessing
Browse Basin, Australia
The Browse Ultracube 3D project comprises the reprocessing and integration of 3 individual 3D surveys of varying vintages to create a single fully pre-stack time migrated (PSTM) volume. Contiguous volume interpretation on a basin wide scale will provide the foundation of future exploration in the Browse.
Reprocessing of the Browse Ultracube will be done by Fugro Seismic Imaging (FSI). FSI is at the forefront of multi vintage 3D reprocessing, having completed the Campos Mega Cube in Brazil (>30,000 square km) and also the Barrow Ultracube in Australia (15,000 square km).
The seismic data provides a consistent 3D dataset which has the potential to further understand the regional stratigraphic and structural interpretation of the Browse Basin. A full suite of additional products are available and allows further work such as depth processing, AVO studies and inversion.
The Browse Basin has received intensive exploration in recent years after a sporadic exploration history. Several large gas fields (> 5TCF) have been discovered within the basin which are currently being commercialised. The outboard potential of this basin has now also been successfully tested.
The Browse Ultracube brings together a number of the vintage 3D's to produce one contiguous dataset covering 13,020 square km.
