In 2006, Searcher Seismic and partner Fugro reprocessed approximately 26,000 km of 2D seismic data in the Gulf of Papua, PNG.
Modern processing has made a significant difference to section quality, particularly to the older vintage data in the eastern frontier area, where we now see thick sedimentary section below what was previously believed to be a shallow basement reflector. This has lead to a reinterpretation of the geology and an upgrading of the prospectivity of the whole the Gulf of Papua region. |
