hiQbe® Regional Velocity Cube
Carnarvon Basin, Australia
The hiQbe® velocity project has created a high quality, regionally consistent velocity volume that covers the Carnarvon, Canning and Browse Basins, offshore Western Australia. Two cube versions have been created - a filtered and balanced stacking velocity cube, which has not been tied to wells, and a well calibrated average velocity cube. Depth conversion with the well calibrated average velocity cube produces anomaly-free depth maps and ties wells. The maps are of high quality, and do not need corrections before they are used. This is the best possible choice for projects where turnaround time is critical, such as license round exploration work.
