Gascoyne Super-Tie 2D PSTM Reprocessing
Carnarvon Basin, Australia
Searcher Seismic in conjunction with project partner Geotrace are currently PSTM reprocessing over 3,300 km of 2D seismic data derived from 5 different surveys. The project area is located in the Southern Carnarvon Basin, predominately over vacant acreage situated south of the Pendock and Herdsman wells. The Gascoyne Sper-Tie 2D Non-Exclusive Reprocessing Project will produce a wide range of value added deliverables and will compliment both Searcher Seismic’s Ningaloo Arch 2D PSTM Reprocessing Project and Acheron 2D Seismic Survey.
During the last 15 years the Southern Carnarvon Basin’s prospectivity has been confirmed with hydrocarbon discoveries at Vincent-Enfield, Laverda and Stybarrow to the north, however little exploration activity has occurred over the project area since the 1980’s. Regional lines suggest a Jurassic basin exists in the southern deepwater portion outboard of the predominantly Palaeozoic aged Gascoyne Platform and Bernier Ridge. Pendock-1 revealed oil and gas shows in Devonian/Silurian aged rocks suggesting an active hydrocarbon system.
The aim of the project is to significantly improve the seismic imaging of the Jurassic to Palaeozoic section below the regional unconformity – a problem which is evident in current seismic vintages.
This survey is complementary to the Acheron 2D survey.
