Exmouth West 2D PSTM Reprocessing
Carnarvon Basin, Australia
Searcher Seismic in conjunction with project partner Fugro have PSTM reprocessed over 3,900 km of 2D seismic data over four exploration permits located in the Exmouth Plateau of Australia's North West Shelf. The project was undertaken in order to offer the industry the latest insite into two Exmouth Plateau Acreage Release Blocks which were offered for public tender in 2008. The Exmouth West 2D Non-Exclusive PSTM Seismic Reprocessing Project offers well ties to both Eendracht and Vinck. The project has reprocessed two surveys which were acquired between 1978 and 1979, the results of which have shown to have significantly improved the dataset from the original processed versions and now offers a host of additional deliverables.
The project area is located in the deep water portion of the Northern Carnarvon Basin. This region has been one of Australia's premier petroleum and exploration regions in the last 15 years. Giant gas discoveries such as Scarborough, Jansz and more recently Pluto, Clio and Thebe confirm the high hydrocarbon prospectivity of the region. The Exmouth West 2D PSTM Non-Exclusive Reprocessing Project was designed to infill Searcher Seismic, Fugro and Gardline Marine Sciences Exmouth West 2D Seismic survey (4,321 km) which was acquired in 2008. Both projects were undertaken in order to offer the industry a dense seismic grid over the outboard Carnarvon Basin and both are available for immediate delivery.
