Barrow 3D Ultracube PSTM Reprocessing

Searcher Seismic in conjunction with project partner FMCS have PSTM reprocessed, integrated and phase matched eight different 3D seismic surveys comprising 8,795 km2 of data, over the highly prospective Barrow Sub-basin (the Barrow Ultracube "Phase 1"). The reprocessing of Phase 2 is nearly complete with a further six surveys and 3,368 km2 of data being reprocessed at FSI. Searcher and Fugro have just announced the extension of the Barrow Ultracube ("Phase 3") which will extend the Ultracube northwards by 5,243 km2 and eight surveys.  The Barrow Ultracube covers a combined 17,406 km2 with the vintages of the incorporated 3D surveys ranging from 1988 to 2009. With the announcement of the 2011 offshore acreage release blocks the Barrow Ultracube now encompasses over 2,000 km2 of acreage available for competitive bidding.

The Barrow Ultracube lies to the west of Barrow Island, and adjacent to some of Australia’s largest oil and gas fields (Barrow, Gorgon, North Gorgon, Io-Jansz, West Tryal Rocks and Chandon). An ultra-modern processing flow applied over multiple vintage 3D surveys provides a merged 3D demonstrating significant imaging improvements and opening up new and exciting prospects.
